Ramirez could become the seventh player with a 40/40 season if he can hit two more home runs within the Guardians' final two games. If he also hits two doubles, he'll join Alfonso Soriano (2006) as the only players with at least 40 homers, 40 steals and 40 doubles in a single year.

Unfortunately for Ramirez, his career has fallen into lockstep with 32-year-old Yankees slugger Aaron Judge, who won the MVP award in 2022, when he led the AL in an outrageous nine categories, including home runs (62), RBI (131), runs (133), and OPS (1.111) – and he is having an even better year this year.

In the bottom of the first inning, facing Justin Verlander, Ramirez drilled a two-run shot over the wall in right field for home run No. 39 for his season. He just needs one more, and if he adds two doubles, he'd have a 40-40-40 season.
