Malaysia’s Road Transport Department (JPJ) announced on Friday (Sep 27) that foreign-registered vehicles which have yet to install Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP) tags by the Oct 1 deadline will still be allowed to enter Malaysia from Singapore.

From Oct 1, all foreign-registered vehicles entering Johor from Singapore must have a Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP), though those without one can still enter the country, but receive a warning. If you have not already registered for your permit,

Malaysian authorities say that a warning notice will be issued to drivers of vehicles before they leave Malaysia if they have still not installed their VEP.
