Auburn quarterback Payton Thorne needed a “redemption game,” and he nearly got just that on Saturday in the Tigers’ game vs. No. 18 Oklahoma. The senior quarterback completed 66% of his passes for 338 yards and three touchdowns on Saturday.

In the Auburn Tigers two losses before Saturday, turnovers had been the big issue in both losses with a combined total of ten. That included eight interceptions between quarterbacks Payton Thorne and Hank Brown.

Auburn football hoped to close out its five-game home stand with an upset win over No. 18 Oklahoma. However, their dream was not meant to become a reality. Auburn held an advantage in several statistical categories and even had an 11-point lead over the Sooners in the 4th quarter.

The Sooners were running onto the field at Jordan-Hare when an Auburn cheerleader was doing a series of flips to fire up the crowd. He must have not been able to look where he was going because he clobbered an Oklahoma player.
