The bullion trader, identified as Mehul Thakkar, filed a complaint at the Navrangpura police station in Gujarat's Ahmedabad on September 24 after being scammed with fake Rs 500 notes.

According to a recent Gujarati media report, Ahmedabad Police seized fake notes worth Rs 1.60 crore bearing this unusual image. Instead of having the image of Mahatma Gandhi, the Rs 500 notes featured Bollywood actor Anupam Kher’s photos.

The accused also asked them to count the same in a counting machine. In the meantime, as per police, the two accused escaped from the shop with the gold, saying that they are going to collect the remaining amount of Rs 30 lakh from an adjoining shop.
