Katie Boulter is out of the China Open after suffering a straight-set defeat by Coco Gauff on Sunday. The British number one was beaten 7-5 6-2 by the world number six, who progresses to the fourth round in Beijing.

Katie Boulter was knocked out of the China Open following a straight-sets defeat to Coco Gauff in the third round. A battling performance saw Boulter test the world number six, but Gauff managed to snatch a tight first set before wrapping up victory in the second to win 7-5 6-2.

Boulter is coming off a defeat to No. 74-ranked Jessica Bouzas Maneiro, 5-7, 5-7, in the Round of 64 at the US Open. In the US Open (her previous tournament), Gauff was defeated in the Round of 16 by No. 12-ranked Emma Navarro, 3-6, 6-4, 3-6.

Jessica Pegula expected a tough match, and the second-seeded American got one in defeating Veronika Kudermetova 6-7 (9), 6-1, 6-2 in the third round of the China Open in Beijing on Sunday.

Coco Gauff reached the third round of the China Open by beating Clara Burel 7-5, 6-3 on Friday in her first match since the U.S. Open.

Katie Boulter (No. 34 ranking) will take on Coco Gauff (No. 6) in the Round of 32 of the China Open on Saturday, September 28.Her most recent time out, Boulter fell to Jessica Bouzas Maneiro 5-7,

It promises to be a great day of WTA Beijing action on Saturday. Coco Gauff and Naomi Osaka are two of the top players who will play their round of 32 matches.
