Golden State Warriors wing Andrew Wiggins may be on the verge of a bounceback —if not a career —season. His 2023-24 campaign was an aberration of sorts, the stress from his father’s failing health taking a toll.

Wiggins upon becoming a Warrior at the 2020 trade deadline began erasing the reputation he created during his five-plus years with the Minnesota Timberwolves as a disappointment of a former No. 1 overall draft pick, turning into a 2022 NBA All-Star and being the second-best player on a championship team months later.

The cause of death was not revealed but Mitchell Wiggins had been dealing with a serious medical situation since 2022, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania, which caused Andrew to miss two months of the 2022-23 NBA season. In March, Andrew also missed four games due to an undisclosed family emergency.
